AGLOW – Youth In Arts Fundraiser Results
AGLOW helped San Rafael students SHINE! Youth in Arts hosted their community-focused fundraiser on September 21; 5–9pm in downtown San Rafael. They rallied to raise nearly $40,000, to bolster creativity for the 3,100 TK-5th Grade students Youth in Arts serves in visual and performing arts education programs in San Rafael City Schools.
The evening began with a tasting from Meadowcroft Wines and an electrifying Brazilian drumming performance by Youth in Arts' Teaching Artists at the YIA Gallery at 917 C Street. The drummers processed their guests from the YIA Gallery up the block to Tam Commons Tap Room & Kitchen, where Flamenco guitarist Carlos Caminos, serenaded them as they savored their appetizers and drinks. Auctioneer Emily Quinn kept the auction and fund-a-need lively, before the evening crescendoed with a captivating concert by Youth in Arts' award-winning teen a cappella troupe, `Til Dawn, and local favorite cover band, Kid Galaga.
