Folk Art Gallery Retiring after 35 years!

From Sharon Christovich, the owner of Folk Art Gallery.

"After 35 years in business in Marin County, the time has come to close our colorful storefront in San Rafael and move completely online to www.theFolkArtGallery.com and to our new Instagram Shop @thefolkartgallery at the end of August 2022.

As a special thank you to you, our longtime friends & customers, we are offering a "Moving Sale" at 30% off everything, including many of the tables, display props, shelves, and arts & crafts materials we use in the store & to do the vignettes in our windows.

To begin with, I have to say Thank You! from the bottom of my heart for the support & friendship of all of you over these many years! It will be hard for me not to be here to chat with you in person in the shop. You have become my community & friends, especially during the very difficult last 2+ years of the pandemic. I have been so lucky to be able to come to the shop & visit with you!

There are so many reasons why I have come to this decision. Covid 19 has reduced our foot traffic (especially with so many people working from home), it has been difficult to staff the store so that I can travel to meet with our artisans & to find new artisans, and I am ready to have more free time to travel and to explore some new ideas for the business. I'm also looking forward to having some time to pursue my personal art.

I plan to continue the online store & also expand our online presence with a shop on our Instagram site. I am thinking of doing an occasional Pop-Up Shop so that I can see everyone in person & continue to sell the beautiful handmade pieces from the traditional artisans & craftspeople around the world. Follow us on Instagram to keep up with our new adventures!"
