Step Back in Time in Downtown San Rafael!

There’s a new way to explore Downtown! The City of San Rafael and Marin History Museum have launched a self-guided historic walking tour featuring more than 20 locations throughout Downtown.

Using your phone, discover historic photos and stories about the buildings and places along Fourth Street, from former car dealerships and banks to sites that have completely transformed over the years. The tour is in both English and Spanish and designed to be explored at your own pace.

The city got access to the STQRY app, that gives the online tour. The app allows you to access a historical photos and info of a site by scanning a QR code or simply standing nearby. Get the tour at cityofsanrafael.stqry.app/en.

It’s a fun new way for locals and visitors alike to walk Downtown, discover our history, and see familiar places in a whole new way!
