San Rafael Arts Public Art Program is complete!
Five new public artworks are now on display throughout Downtown San Rafael, part of an initiative celebrating our city’s cultural identity and growing arts community.
Funded through a California Arts Council grant, the project includes murals, mosaics, and sculptures at:
- C Street Garage – Third Street mural
- City Plaza – fountain mural and tile artwork
- Second & Ida Streets – retaining wall mural
- B Street Community Center – sculpture (to be moved to the West End)
- City Hall – new sculpture completing the collection
More than 1,000 community members provided input to help shape the new artworks.
The installations also coincide with the launch of San Rafael Arts, the new name and identity for San Rafael’s California Cultural District (formerly known as DSRAD - Downtown San Rafael Arts District). The BID is proud to be one of the community partners helping support and grow the arts in Downtown!
