Downtown San Rafael's Phase 3 Mulching Beautification Project Before and After Photos:
Details: The City of San Rafael and the BID joined efforts once again for Phase 3 of our Downtown Mulching Project on Dec 1st to help beautify our Downtown Corridor. Phase 1 was on Earth Day Clean and Green Day in April. Phase 2 was in September.
Why Mulching Matters: Mulching not only adds an aesthetic appeal to our streets but also offers various benefits, including:
- Weed Suppression: Mulch helps to suppress weed growth, reducing the need for herbicides.
- Moisture Retention: It retains moisture in the soil, helping plants thrive during hot summer days.
- Soil Improvement: As mulch breaks down, it enriches the soil with essential nutrients.
- Erosion Control: Mulch helps prevent soil erosion during heavy rains.
