New: Vacant to Vibrant Windows in San Rafael with BID support!
The Downtown San Rafael BID is excited to help fund this new Vacant to Vibrant Program, led by local artist and curator Irene Bee Kain.
Building on Irene’s existing Window Initiative, the program will help her transform vacant storefronts into creative, “Macy’s-style” window displays featuring original artwork, sculptures, furniture, and locally sourced props. Each window will become a mini gallery designed to capture attention, support Bay Area artists, and make Downtown more vibrant and inviting.
The program will begin at 1212 Fourth Street, with plans to expand to an additional vacant storefront. Displays will rotate seasonally and participating artists will be promoted both in the windows and online.
