San Rafael Rotary Adopts Lauren Place in Downtown
The BID is excited to share that the San Rafael Rotary Club has officially adopted Lauren Place— a memorial on 4th Street dedicated to Lauren Grandcolas who perished on United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001. As part of their ongoing commitment to enhancing our community, the Rotary will be beautifying this space with fresh plantings and maintaining it on a monthly basis to ensure it remains a welcoming and vibrant spot for everyone to enjoy. Future plans may include the addition of artistic elements with support of the Business Improvement District, subject to budget availability, further enriching the visual appeal of this very special location.
Thank you to the San Rafael Rotary for helping to make Downtown San Rafael a more beautiful and engaging place! Stay tuned for updates on this wonderful collaboration.
Who is the San Rafael Rotary?? We represent the Rotary Club of San Rafael-the oldest Rotary service Club in Marin at 103 years in existence! The Rotary Club of San Rafael is about serving other and working with community partners to make good things happen like adopting and beautifying “Lauren Place” in downtown San Rafael. In supporting our Rotary Club’s core values of “service-above-service,” President Otis Bruce, Jr. has coined this year’s Rotary theme: “Show the spirit of Rotary! Let the work you do and the service you provide speak for you! Do it all through Rotary!”
